I was very pleased with the first Mosaic Opal ring I bought - the play of colour, the comfort fit and the quality of workmanship in fitting the thin, irregular shaped patches of opal together on a black base so that very little of the black base showed. So I bought another. This second ring was even better. There were more patches of what's called black opal - patches of deep navy and royal blue with flashes of fluorescent cherry reds, coral reds, pinks, bright greens, turquoise greens and blues, brilliant yellows, flaming oranges, and wonderful purples and amethysts. A truly breath-taking, wonderful play of colour. I could never afford to pay thousands of pounds for a solid chunk of 14mm x 10mm black opal set in a ring. But with this ring I can experience a litttle of the beauty of the best opal.
I'm very pleased with this ring. The play of colour in this Gem's Mosaic opal ring is wonderful - irregular patches of blue sparkling with fluorescent pops of every colour - fluorescent greens, burning oranges, yellows, coral reds, pinks, turquoise blues. Even in shade there is great colour. And in direct sunlight or in indoor lighting the play of colour is just breath-taking. And the comfort fit of this design means I can wear it constantly without discomfort. I liked this ring so much that I bought another in the same design. It turned out to be even better, with more wonderful play of colour than the first ring! Gems Mosaic opal is a great alternative for those of us who can't afford to pay thousands of pounds for a 10mm x 14mm solid chunk of Boulder opal set in a ring.
