Loupe

 A loupe is a 10x magnification eye glass used  by jewellers. This is the standard magnification  that  the  Gemological  Institution  of  America  (GIA) uses to identify the clarity of Diamonds.  For example, Internally Flawless (IF) refers to  the fact that no inclusions are seen in a Diamond  when viewed under a loupe.

Hopefully you are starting to get a little excited by Mother  Nature’s coloured  treasures. If so,  in  order to  fully appreciate gemstones I would recommend that a loupe is one of the next purchases you make.
