Kerala Silimanite Gemstone

Kerala Sillimanite is a rarely encountered, transparent NATURAL Sillimanite. It looks like Csarite and just like Csarite, is totally unenhanced by man.

Imagine a fusion of Spanish red wines and Indian cuisine. Our Andalusite is normally unearthed in Spain and our Kyanite, to the north of India in the Himalayas.

Although Sillimanite can be found in other areas, it is normally translucent at best. Kerala Sillimanite is fairly unique because it has a Diamond like transparency and Diamond like diaphaneity.

Andalusite is the most pleochroic gemstone on the planet.

Kerala is found on the Malabar coast to the very south-west of India, just off the coast of Sri Lanka. We wonder if this has any bearing on its Sapphire like qualities.
