Jade: The Stone of Heaven
We're exceedingly lucky to be able to source some of the finest quality Jade in the world, mainly from the Mogok region of Myanmar (Burma). This issue we have the inside story on how we were able to secure such a coveted stone from a very secretive source, and we also explore the fascinating story of the pastel green jewel itself, including its two subvarieties of Jadeite and Nephrite.
Gemporia Style Guide: Positively Springtime
We're so excited for the warmth and the colours of spring this year, and we're sure you are too. We've picked five out our favourite seasonal hues and the best gemstones to wear in these shades inside the mag. If you want to look colourful and bang on trend this spring, we've done all the hard work for you.
FAB: Fashion and Beauty
Talking of springtime, some phenomenal new additions are coming soon to our fashion and beauty ranges. Kati Elliot's Visage make-up collection continues to expand apace with new eyeshadow palettes and lipsticks. At the same time, Hattie Greenwood's Destello fashion range is about to launch bright and colourful new handbags and light scarves for the coming season. We have a sneak preview at both in the new magazine.
The Eden Collection
Sadly, the pandemic delayed the new Eden Collection by Tara Coomber that we had hoped to bring you last year. But we now have the finished designs in our jewellery vaults ready to be shown for the very first time. We have gorgeous new photography of this stunning cut, alongside a chat with Tara on how the collection came to be.
Kate McCarthy and the Elegance Collection
Kate McCarthy and her Elegance range continue to bring stunning, limited edition collections to Gemporia. After the success of previous ranges, such as Eclectic Elegance, Timeless Elegance and Quirky Elegance, Kate talks to us this issue about her new additions and the process behind creating them, including the recently launched Joyful Elegance range, and the forthcoming Spring Elegance collection.
Jewellery Maker: Spring Edition
In our Jewellery Maker section, presenter Jenny Cleary takes us through a day in her life behind the scenes at JM, and what happens before, during and after the show that you don't always get to see. There's also a Spring Flower Necklace mini-make project to try, and we've spoken to guest designer Amanda James about how she became a GD and the designs she loves to create.
Gemstone Family Tree: Beryl
The word Beryl may not immediately strike you as the name of a gemstone family, but its members include such top-tier stones as Emerald, Aquamarine and Morganite. We've dived into the science behind this family of jewels to find out how they get their colours, and where in the world they are found. We also look at some of the less-famous but equally beautiful variations of the gem.
Springtime Homewares Highlights
