We've been chatting with Kati Elliott about her luxurious new beauty range, Visage, to find out how gemstones have inspired her collection and which new beauty products we have to look forward to in the coming months.
Hi Kati, how are you?
Hello, I’m fabulous thank you!
How long have you wanted to launch a beauty range?
It’s something I’ve always wanted to do, but never thought I’d have the chance to.
What inspired the name Visage?
I’ve been learning French, and have always been inspired by French style and felt like Visage was the perfect chic word to sum up the vibe of the brand.
What’s the message behind the range?
Celebrating female empowerment, Visage seeks to bring out the best confidence in yourself. Inner power comes from confidence, and Visage sets out to highlight and enhance your natural beauty, to help you feel like the very best version of yourself.
What’s in the range?
The launch comprised of my Visage Daystay foundation, the flawless makeup blender, two nail varnish sets, and the Lipkiss lipstick range in a matte finish and hydrating finish, with 10 different shades.
Did gemstones inspire your range?
As gemstones are first and foremost what I know, I’ve based the colours and shades on different gemstones that we all know and love, focussing on the specific tones of some of Gemporia’s all-time best-selling gemstones. I also based the foundation shades on the Champagne Diamond scale, with shades ranging from C1 to C6, as I think gemstone colours are something that we all understand and is a great way to bridge the gap between gems and beauty.
What's your favourite item from Hattie's new Destello collection?
That’s a really hard question. Hattie is my best friend and we’ve worked so closely on Visage and Destello. I love the silky Hermes-inspired scarves, as well as all the little evening bags. I’m just so proud of what she’s achieved with the launch and can't want to see what’s next.
What are you planning to add to your range in the coming months?
There’s so much to come! The Visage brush set, Daystay concealer, loose powder and even more nail varnish shades. There’s so much planned for the rest of the year, including skincare, haircare and self-tan. I can’t wait!
Do you have a fashion icon?
It’s got to be Taylor LaShae, Inès de La Fressange and Lorna Luxe. I love French style and they capture that effortless look to a tee.
